HERBAL PESTICIDE

 It contains the following characteristics,

  • Repellants ( garlic , mint , marigold, cloves and lemon)
  • Skin growth inhibitors( pirandai , erukku )
  • Deterrents ( neem, chillies, ginger, onion )
  • Fertilizers (papaya leaves or pineapple and sesame )

  This type of herbal pesticide helps in controlling pests in organic method. This pesticide is eco friendly and does not cause any harm to environment. It does not kill any beneficial insects. It improves the disease resistant of the crops without creating a toxic effect on the plants. This helps in producing a natural produce that act as medicine to the consumers.

PREPARATORY METHODS:

  • SOAKING METHOD
  • BOILING METHOD

   1)SOAKING METHOD: 

            This method involves in soaking the ingredients in shade for 7 days .

MATERIALS REQUIRED:

  • Cow urine 50 lit
  • Garlic , mint, marigold, and lemon – 2kg
  • Pirandai, erukku – 2kg
  • Neem, ginger, chillies – 2kg
  • Papaya  – 2kg

PROCEDURE:

  • Grind all the above listed plants and mix them with 50 lit of cow urine and soak them in shade for about 7 days.
  • After 7 days this can be filtered and sprayed to the crops.

DOSAGE :

  • While spraying, the solution must be mixed thoroughly and filtered.
  • In 10lit of water add 30 – 500ml of uyir herbal pesticide solution and 100ml of rice gruel for binding for spraying to the crops. The dosage may vary depending upon the crop and the pest incidence.

2) BOILING METHOD :

    This method involves in immediate spraying after preparation.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:

  • Cow urine 60 lit
  • Garlic , mint, marigold, and lemon – 2kg
  • Pirandai, erukku – 2kg
  • Neem, ginger, chillies – 2kg
  • Papaya  – 2kg

DOSAGE:

  • Grind all the given materials and mix them with 60 lit of cow urine in an vessel.
  • Now boil them in an optimum temperature and let it cool to room temperature. Repeat this process twice.
  • After it cools filter and spray to the crops.
  •  In 10lit of water add 30 -500ml of solution and 100ml of rice gruel for binding and spray it to the crops. This dosage may vary depending on crops and the pest incidence

NOTE:

 While spraying make sure the basal portion of leaves get well covered with solution.
